Travel Trailer Rental in Calgary: Two Trailers, One Delivery Service

A 4-season Yetti rated to -30°C and a 10-berth KZ Connect bunkhouse, both out of Calgary. Which one suits your dates, why neither is towable by most SUVs, and how delivery solves that.

The trailer question in Calgary is almost never about the trailer. It is about two things people find out late: whether the nights on your dates go below zero, and whether the vehicle in your driveway can legally pull what you just booked.

We run two travel trailers on RVezy and they answer different halves of the calendar.

What is the difference between a 3-season and a 4-season travel trailer?

An enclosed, insulated, heated underbelly. On a 3-season trailer the tanks and water lines hang exposed under the floor, so a night below zero freezes them. A 4-season trailer wraps that plumbing inside the heated envelope.

Our 2020 Yetti Grand Escape GE821-KPF is the 4-season one — about 21 ft, Arctic package rated to -30°C, propane and electric furnace, drop frame. It is the trailer for shoulder season and cold nights, and it is the one we towed into Tunnel Mountain for a sub-zero Christmas Eve.

Our 2019 KZ Connect C332BHK is the 3-season family trailer — a double-bedroom bunkhouse that sleeps up to 10, with dual slide-outs and an outdoor kitchen. It is the better trailer once overnight lows stay above 0°C, and it is both heavier and a higher nightly rate than the Yetti.

The practical rule: book the KZ for July and August with a big group; book the Yetti from September onward, or any time the forecast has a zero in it.

How many people does the Yetti sleep?

Seven to eight comfortably, ten at maximum with the extra cot. The berths are a power lift queen that lowers from the ceiling, two double sofa beds, and a bunk set with a double on the bottom and a single on top.

Two things worth knowing before you plan who sleeps where. The lift queen’s 600 lb limit is for the whole bed, not per person. And there is no fixed front queen — some trailers this size have one, this one does not. The RVezy listing is the source of truth on the layout.

Can a Volvo XC60 tow a travel trailer?

Not either of ours, and this is the constraint that decides most bookings.

The XC60 is rated to tow 3,500 lb. The Yetti is 5,875 lb dry and closer to 6,800 lb loaded for a real trip. The KZ Connect is roughly 7,680 lb dry with a GVWR of 8,800 lb. Those gaps are not something careful driving closes — they are structural ratings, and exceeding them voids insurance on both the trailer and the tow vehicle.

Renting one of our pickups is not the workaround either: towing with a rented vehicle is prohibited under Turo’s terms. If you do not own a truck rated for the load, the answer is delivery.

Do you deliver the travel trailer to the campground?

Yes, for the Yetti, through RVezy. We tow it to your site, set it up, and come back for it at the end, so the trip does not depend on you owning a tow vehicle at all.

Delivery range, fees and availability change, and the RVezy listing is the single source of truth for all three — check it there rather than trusting a number written on a blog post.
